Sensai: From startup to acquisition in 2 years.

I remember the electric buzz that hummed through my veins the day we, a trinity of dreamers gathered around the idea that would become Sensai. There was Michael, a beacon of practical wisdom, Monica, a visionary whose mind seemed to dance on the cusp of tomorrow, and myself, caught in the gravity of their brilliance. Nestled in crammed home offices, our ambitions soared beyond the cramped confines.

Monica had woven intricate tales of artificial intelligence from her years at Google, and together with Michael, who shared my space at rally.org, we sensed the ripe possibility, the almost palpable promise AI held. It was a time when AI whispered on the tongues of academia and shied in the corners of tech giants, far from the siren it is today.

We took a leap, buoyed by a $2 million seed round. The scent of fresh venture capital was less intoxicating than the vision of our technology, which Michael and I had initially painted in the broad strokes meant for the financial sector. But fate, as I learned, has a clever humor.

By 2015, the prototype of our dreams had taken a tangible form. With it, Monica and I set foot in Germany, amidst the industrial might of Siemens, deploying our first true realization of Sensai. Suffused with a mix of trepidation and exhilaration, we watched our AI navigate the labyrinth of their complex data. There was also Sovereign Technology, cloaked in the aura of clandestine work, our software threading through the dense weaves of intelligence and defense.

Sensai’s journey, however, found an unexpected pivot. Our paths converged not with the bankers and traders but with the scholars of secrets, the intelligence world where every byte of data whispered stories of national security. Sovereign saw what we had missed - the spy agencies, not Wall Street, needed us most.

2016 dawned with sobering reality - our funds dwindled, and the venture capital wells ran dry. Choices were stark, and paths uncertain. Sovereign Technology, which had morphed into the more foreboding, Sovereign AI, presented us with an escape hatch - an aqua-hire. It was bittersweet; Michael and Monica, laden with our shared dream, stepped into Sovereign's embrace, carrying Sensai into a new epoch.

Equity changed hands, rewarding the faith of our investors and team. As for me, I bowed out, my journey with Sensai reaching its novel end, seeking respite and then a new momentum within the enigmatic realm of cryptocurrency. Sensai was more than a venture; it was the crucible that forged our destinies. And as I recount this odyssey, I can’t help but marvel at the tapestry of decisions, the caprice of the market, and the ever-potent allure of serendipity.
